1. Washing Instructions

Hand Washing (Recommended)

Hand washing is the safest way to clean this type of sweater.

Steps:

1. Fill a clean basin or sink with cold or lukewarm water (not exceeding 30°C / 86°F).

2. Add a small amount of mild detergent specifically formulated for wool or cashmere (e.g., Woolite, Eucalan, or The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo).

3. Turn the sweater inside out and gently submerge it in the water.

4. Soak for 5–10 minutes, gently agitating the water occasionally. Do not rub, scrub, or wring the fabric.

5. Rinse thoroughly with clean cold water until no soap remains.

Avoid:

• Hot water (causes shrinkage)

• Regular detergent (can damage natural fibers)

• Washing machines (unless using a wool-safe setting)

2. Drying Instructions

Flat Drying

Never hang a wool-cashmere sweater to dry—it will stretch out of shape.

Steps:

1. After rinsing, press gently to remove excess water—do not wring or twist.

2. Lay the sweater flat on a clean, dry towel.

3. Roll up the towel with the sweater inside to gently absorb moisture.

4. Unroll, reshape the sweater, and lay flat on a fresh dry towel or a mesh drying rack.

5. Let it air dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

3. Pilling and De-Pilling

Even high-quality blends like wool + cashmere may form pills (small fabric balls), especially in areas of friction like underarms or sides.

To remove pilling:

• Use a fabric comb, cashmere brush, or a gentle sweater shaver.

• Always work in one direction and avoid over-shaving, which can thin the fabric.

4. Storage Tips

Proper storage prevents stretching, pest damage, and misshaping.

During use:

• Fold your sweater; don’t hang it.

• Store in a breathable cotton bag or drawer.

Long-term storage:

• Clean the sweater first—moths are attracted to body oils and dirt.

• Store in an airtight container with natural repellents like cedar blocks or lavender sachets.

• Avoid plastic bags (they trap moisture and can cause mildew).
